
Les is a registered patent attorney with nearly a decade of patent law experience. Les began his legal career as a patent agent with Hewlett-Packard Company, and later practiced as a patent attorney at Hewlett-Packard. Les received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver, College of Law.
Prior to his legal career, Les worked 15 years as an electrical engineer in the integrated circuit industry in Colorado. Les began his engineering career at Hewlett-Packard Company in 1984 as an IC Process Engineer. He then spent an additional 13 years designing integrated circuits for Hewlett-Packard as an IC Design Engineer. Les has worked on a wide variety of integrated circuit designs at Hewlett-Packard including: high performance datapath libraries, disk drive controllers, 3D graphics accelerators, microprocessors, high performance bus architectures, and top level integrated circuit floor-planning and design.

Prior to his engineering career, Les received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering in 1982, and a Master of Science degree in Engineering in 1984, both from the University of California at Davis . His emphasis in college included integrated circuit processing and design, solid state physics, and electronic materials.
