Eric is a patent attorney who joined the firm in August 2008.  Eric was admitted to the Colorado Bar in October 2006, and is a registered practitioner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Eric primarily handles patent preparation and prosecution in the technology areas of communications and software, including experience with computer architecture, network security, digital signal processing, embedded systems, optical signals, device drivers, microprocessors, and integrated circuit design. 

Eric has broad patent preparation and prosecution experience in several technologies, including:

  • Communication systems including advanced network architectures, packet routing, enhanced service platforms, and application servers

  • Wireless systems including antenna design, network performance measurement systems, base stations, and wireless communication devices

  • Information security technology including computer network and data security policy enforcement, access management, and intrusion detection systems

  • Virtual machines and cloud computing environments

  • Integrated circuitry including microprocessors, I/O controllers, and embedded systems

  • Computer systems and software including operating systems and device drivers

  • Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

  • Optical systems including lasers, amplifiers, attenuators, and wavelength-division multiplexing

  • Video delivery systems including digital video recorders, satellite, and cable TV systems

  • Data storage systems including magnetic, optical, and solid-state drives

  • Automation machinery control systems and software
